Jmenuji se Lucie. I'm a Czech teacher who started her teaching journey in the most personal way, by helping my Korean best friend learn Czech from scratch. That experience taught me exactly what beginners need: patience, clarity, and a lot of encouragement.

With a background in film studies and a love for creative storytelling, I bring characters, humor, and real-life scenarios into each lesson. I also have performing experience, which helps me make the Czech language feel lively, expressive, and—most importantly—memorable.

The course is designed for English speakers. Because English and Czech are very different languages, I explain things in English for most of the course so that you can understand the main concepts more easily, and the transition to Czech is smoother and easier to follow.

No previous knowledge of the language is required.

The beginner's course is designed for those who are starting from scratch, which is why we begin with the absolute basics. However, the course is also perfect for advanced beginners, as the lessons gradually become more challenging, helping you build confidence and fluency step by step.

In this module, we begin with a short story to introduce the sounds of the Czech language in context. You will learn the Czech alphabet, how to pronounce each letter, and understand basic intonation patterns. We will also explore grammatical gender, noun patterns (vzory), basic declension (skloňování), and an introduction to verb conjugation (časování).
